This is the recipe Grandma Rhonda Oltmanns-Niemeier always uses for her Christmas cookies. It is special because the texture of confectioners sugar makes it extra special.
1 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Recipe
Mix butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, and almond extract.
Blend in flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar.
Cover and chill for 3 hours.
Divide, roll, and cut.
Heat oven to 375 degrees, and bake for 7-8 minutes or until light brown on edges.
