This recipe makes your house smell so good while it is being prepared.
List of Ingredients
2 C of either pecans or almonds
SPICE MIX:
2 tbsp sugar
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground cloves
1/8 tsp ground allspice
RUM GLAZE:
1 tbsp dark rum
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp brown sugar
1 tbsp butter
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper or wax paper and toast nuts for 4 minutes, rotate pan and continue to toast for another 4 minutes. Transfer sheet to a wire rack.
While nuts are roasting put spice mix in a bowl and mix together.
Bring glaze ingredients to boil in a medium saucepan whisking constantly. Mix in nuts, stirring constantly with wooden spoon until nuts are shiney and almost all the liquid has been evaporated (about 1 min. 30 seconds)
Transfer glazed nuts to the bowl with the spice mix. Toss well to coat. Return nuts to parchment lined sheet to cool.
