    Asian Ginger Anti-Flu Dressing

This dressing, good during cold and flu season, is compliments of New Age magazine. Serve with spinach and chopped water chestnuts or any prewashed European Style bag of salad mixings.

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 tsp ginger root, peeled and minced
    • 1 tsp garlic, peeled and minced
    • 3 T rice wine vinegar*
    • 1 T sesame oil
    • 4 T canola oil**
    • 1 T soy sauce
    • 3 T orange juice***
    • 1 tsp honey
    • 1 pinch black pepper
    • * substitute pineapple, white wine or balsamic if necessary
    • ** any oil will do
    • Note: To cut calories, substitute 2 T of water for oil.
    • ***substitute lemon or lime juice. This will make the dressing a little more tangy.
    • Add chopped green onions for variety.

    Instructions

    1. Combine ingredients in a jar and mix well. The sesame oil and the rice wine vinegar give it an oriental taste. You can use any oil and any vinegar, it will still taste tangy, clear the sinus, and be rich in anti oxidants.

    Final Comments

Onions, scallions, garlic boost immunity, ginger may help combat blood clots and congestion from colds. Antioxidants like parsley are rich in vitamin C, iron and calcium; and rosemary stimulates circulation.
