    Addie's Holiday Wild Rice Hot Dish

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 c. wild rice, uncooked but washed
    • 1 lb. bacon, cut in 1/4 inch pieces
    • 1 lb. pork sausage (regular, hot or seasoned) we used italian
    • 2 med onions, chopped
    • 2 green peppers, chopped
    • 2 c. celery, chopped
    • 2 c. grated American or cheddar cheese
    • 2 cans cream of chicken soup, undiluted
    • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
    • 2 4oz cans or 1/2 lb. sliced fresh mushrooms
    • 1 small jar chopped, drained pimentos


    Instructions


    1. Brown bacon and sausage in large fry pan.

    2. Add green pepper, celery and onions. Cook until vegetables are limp.

    3. Drain excess fat. Pour into large baking dish.

    4. Add wild rice, cheese, soups, mushrooms and pimento.

    5. Stir with wooden or nylon spoon.

    6. Bake at 250° for 4 to 4 1/2 hours in covered dish.

    7. Stir once when half done.

    8. Serves 12 to 15 people.

    This is our favorite Wild Rice Hot Dish.
