    Recipe Introduction


    This is my favorite cornbread. It's just like my grandmother used to make.


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups self rising corn meal mix
    • 1 1/3 cups milk or buttermilk
    • 1/4 cup oil
    • 1 egg, beaten


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Grease 8 inch cast iron skillet with Crisco. Place in oven while it's preheating to heat.
    2. Meanwhile in a large bowl, combine all ingredients, mix well. Pour batter into hot greased skillet.
    3. Bake at 450 degrees for 20- 25 minutes or until golden brown.
