Recipe Introduction
This is my favorite cornbread. It's just like my grandmother used to make.
List of Ingredients
- 2 cups self rising corn meal mix
- 1 1/3 cups milk or buttermilk
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Grease 8 inch cast iron skillet with Crisco. Place in oven while it's preheating to heat.
- Meanwhile in a large bowl, combine all ingredients, mix well. Pour batter into hot greased skillet.
- Bake at 450 degrees for 20- 25 minutes or until golden brown.
