Scalloped Potatoes

1 tsp butter, softened
1 large garlic clove
1 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup milk
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
2 lbs. russett potatoes, peeled, sliced 1/2" thick
1 cup coarsley shredded Gruyere cheese
1/3 cup finely shredded parmasan cheese
Recipe
Butter a shallow baking dish. Crush garlic clove. Heat the heavy cream, milk, garlic, salt, and pepper until small bubbles appear. Remove from heat and let set 10 minutes.
Arrange potato slices in baking dish, pour 1/2 of the heavy cream mixture over the potatoes. Sprinkle with 1/2 of the cheeses. Arrange another layer os potatoes, pour remaining cream mixture over potatoes, then another layer of cheese. Bake until top is a deep brown and potatoes are tender. Bake at 350 for approximately 60-70 minutes.
