    Mushroom Green Bean Casserole

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
    • 1 large onion, chopped
    • 1/2 c. butter
    • 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    • 1 c. half and half cream
    • 1 jar (16 oz.) process cheese sauce
    • 2 t. soy sauce
    • 1/2 t. pepper
    • 1/8 t. hot pepper sauce
    • 1 can (8 oz.) sliced water chestnuts, drained
    • 2 packages (16 oz. each) frozen French-style green beans, thawed and well-drained
    • slivered almonds


    Instructions


    1. In a skillet, saute mushrooms and onion in butter. Stir in flour until blended. Gradually stir in cream. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes. Stir in the cheese sauce, soy sauce, pepper and hot pepper sauce until cheese is melted. Remove from the heat; stir in water chestnuts. Place beans in an ungreased 3-qt. baking dish. Pour the cheese mixture over top. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly.
