    Asparagus Ham Rolls

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 T. butter
    • 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    • 2 c. milk
    • 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
    • 1/4 t. salt
    • 1/4 t. white pepper
    • 24 fresh or frozen asparagus stalks
    • 8 thin slices fully cooked ham (about 1/2 lb.)
    • 1/4 c. bread crumbs


    Instructions


    1. In a saucepan, melt butter; stir in flour and cook until thick. Gradually stir in milk and cook until bubbly and thickened. Stir in cheese, salt and pepper. Remove from the heat.
    2. Place three asparagus stalks on each ham slice. Roll up; fasten with toothpicks if necessary. Place in a 13X9X2-in. baking pan; cover with cheese sauce. Sprinkle with crumbs.
    3. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
