My mom made this cake for me every Birthday. It has always been my utmost favorite. Personally, I have no idea why anyone would not like this one.
List of Ingredients
3/4 Cup ground poppy seed
3/4 Cup milk
3/4 Cup oleo (LOL I think this is margerine for all you youngins!!
1 1/2 Cup Sugar
2 Cups Flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoons salt
4 egg whites
Recipe
1. Combine ground poppy seed and milk and set aside
2. Cream olea and sugar. Gradually add poppy side mixture.
3. Sift flour, baking powder and salt
Add alternately with milk.
Fold in eggs whites, stiffly beaten.
It can be baked in a lyer pan, but she used a 13 x 9, well greased, baking dish
Bake 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
Put a glazed frosting on the cake when it is still warm.
