I remember my mom and Aunt Mary exchanging these cookies. You would have thought that they made them different. These cookies just melt in you mouth. awwwww Christmas cookies in metal cans...I also remember Grandma having these out on Aunt Sarah's porch.

List of Ingredients
2 sticks of butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups of flour
3/4 cup of chopped walnuts
Extra powdered sugar for coating
Recipe
Cream butter; add the rest of the ingredients; mix well.
Roll into balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 400° for 12-15 minutes. Check on cookies after about 10 minutes to make sure they do not burn on the bottoms.
When cookies are slightly cooled, roll in powdered sugar.
