Cheesey Potatoes
I am not sure where I found this recipe, but it is alway a big hit. My aunt thinks it is better than all the others she has tried because it starts with home cooked potatoes.
List of Ingredients
- 6 baking potatoes
- 1 16 ounce container of sour cream
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 - 3 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Bake or boil the potatoes with the skins on. Cool slightly, peel and slice or cube.
- Melt the butter in a skillet and saute onion till tender.
- Toss together the potatoes, cheese, salt and pepper. Stir in the sour cream. Mix in the butter and onion.
- Place in a casserole dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes or until browned and bubbly.
Final Comments
I usually bake the potatoes. This can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated. Allow extra baking time if refrigerated.
