    Serve this nutritious quick bread at breakfast or with afternoon tea.


    List of Ingredients


    • Bread Ingredients:
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup whole wheat flour
    • 2 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
    • 1/2 cup LAND O LAKES® Butter, melted
    • 1/2 cup honey
    • 2 large eggs, beaten
    • Spiced Honey Ingredients:
    • 1/2 cup honey
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
    • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice


    Instructions


    1. Heat oven to 350°F. Combine flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Add buttermilk, butter, honey and eggs; stir just until combined.
    2. Pour batter into greased 9x5-inch loaf pan. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan.
    3. Meanwhile, combine all Spiced Honey ingredients in 1-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a boil (3 to 5 minutes). Cool completely. Serve with bread.


    Final Comments


    Makes 12 servings (1 loaf); 1/2 cup Spiced Honey.

    TIP: You can change the flavor and texture of this quick bread by using “add-ins”. Add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans, 1/2 cup raisins or dried cranberries.
