Buttermilk Bread with Spiced Honey

- Bread Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 1/2 cup LAND O LAKES® Butter, melted
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- Spiced Honey Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350°F. Combine flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Add buttermilk, butter, honey and eggs; stir just until combined.
- Pour batter into greased 9x5-inch loaf pan. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan.
- Meanwhile, combine all Spiced Honey ingredients in 1-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a boil (3 to 5 minutes). Cool completely. Serve with bread.

Makes 12 servings (1 loaf); 1/2 cup Spiced Honey.
TIP: You can change the flavor and texture of this quick bread by using “add-ins”. Add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans, 1/2 cup raisins or dried cranberries.
