Quick Whipping Cream Biscuits

Make and freeze these biscuits ahead of time, then reheat as needed.
List of Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 4 cups self-rising flour
- 1 3/4 to 2 cups whipping cream
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cut 1 cup butter into flour with a pastry blender or fork until crumbly. Add whipping cream, stirring until dry ingredients are moist.
- Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently 3 or 4 times. Roll or pat dough to 3/4" thickness. Cut with a 2" round cutter; place biscuits on a baking sheet lightly coated with cooking spray. Bake for 13 to 15 minutes. Brush warm biscuits with 1/2 cup melted butter.
Final Comments
Yields: 2 dozen
*Change the flavor: add about 1 cup grated cheddar cheese to this biscuit recipe for an alternate flavor. Toss cheese in just before adding whipping cream.
