    List of Ingredients


    • 1 egg
    • 1/4 CRISCO® Stick or 1/4 cup CRISCO Shortening, melted
    • 1-1/3 cups milk
    • 2 cups Martha White® Self-Rising Corn Meal Mix
    • 1 4.5-ounce can chopped green chiles
    • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
    • 1/2 pound hot bulk sausage, browned and drained
    • 2-4 tablespoons chopped, pickled jalapeño pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 450° F.

    2. Grease 10 1/2-inch cast iron skillet with CRISCO Shortening and place in oven to heat.
    3. Beat egg in large bowl. Add melted shortening, milk, and Martha White Corn Meal Mix; blend well.
    4. Stir in remaining ingredients; mix well. Pour into hot skillet.

    5. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Turn out onto serving plate; cut into wedges and serve.
