    Terrific for the autumn or holiday dessert table. Will be enjoyed by people who don't like pumpkin pie.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 (18-oz) pkg yellow cake mix
    • 1/2 plus 1/2 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 1 (29-oz) can pumpkin puree (with no added spices)
    • 3 eggs
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 1/2 plus 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 2/3 cup milk
    • 1 tsp cinnamon
    • dash of cloves
    • dash of salt
    • 1/2 cup chopped nuts


    Instructions


    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch pan.
    2. Reserve 1 1/4 cups cake mix.
    3. Combine the remaining cake mix with 1/2 cup melted butter and the egg.
    4. Pour the mixture into the cake pan.
    5. In a small bowl mix the pumpkin puree, eggs, brown sugar, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, milk, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
    6. Pour over the mixture in the pan.
    7. Combine the reserved cake mix with the remaining 1/2 cup sugar and the remaining 1/2 cup melted butter.
    8. Crumble this mixture over the batter and sprinkle the nuts on top.
    9. Bake for 1 hour.
