List of Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, or margarine, melted
- 1/2 cup mushroom, chopped
- 1/4 cup celery, chopped
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4-1/2 cups milk
- 1-1/3 cups water
- 1 cup long-grain rice, uncooked
- dash of garlic salt
- 6 - 8 seasoned chicken parts
- 1 tablespoon butter, or margarine, melted
- 1 tablespoon flour
Instructions
- Add mushrooms and celery to melted butter in saucepan and saute until golden. Stir in flour and seasonings. Gradually add milk and bring to the boiling point, stirring constantly until thickened. Remove from heat.
- Blend in water. Add rice and garlic salt, mixing well.
- Pour into large roaster or baking pan. Arrange chicken pieces on top of rice mixture.
- Cover and bake 3 hours at 300 degrees.
