Swedish Butter Cookies

List of Ingredients
- 1/2 pound butter -- softened to room temperature
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon cream
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 egg white
- 1/2 cup walnuts -- chopped
- raspberry jam for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325F.
- Cream together butter & sugar until light & fluffy. Beat in egg yolk, cream, flour, baking powder & almond extract.
- Place unbeaten egg white in a saucer. Place nuts in another saucer. Shape dough into small balls, dip in egg white, then into nuts. Arrange on an ungreased cookie sheet & indent centers with thumb or forefinger.
- Bake 5 minutes and remove from oven. Check indentations and press again if necessary. Fill with a tiny amount of raspberry jam. Return to oven and
bake 15 minutes more or until cookies turn a light brown.
