Pear-Cranberry Crisp

- 3 lbs ripe Anjou pears, about 5, peeled, cored and sliced 1/2" thick
- 1 cup fresh cranberries, or frozen, thawed
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1/2 cup almonds, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted, cooled, plus more for pan
- vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Butter a 11x7x2-inch glass baking dish.
- In a large bowl combine pears, cranberries, and 1/2 cup sugar, set aside for 15 minutes.
- In medium bowl mix flour, almonds, brown sugar, ginger and remaining sugar. Using a fork, add butter, stirring until moist clumps form.
- Transfer fruit to prepared baking dish. Sprinkle topping over fruit. Bake until golden brown, about 45 minutes.
- Cool slightly. Serve warm with ice cream.
