List of Ingredients
- 25 3 to 5-inch long cucumbers, washed, drained, and sliced
- 12 medium-sized onions, sliced
- 2 quarts ice water
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1 quart vinegar
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 tsp mustard seed
- 2 tsp ground tumeric
- 2 tsp celery seed
Instructions
- Soak cucumbers and onions in salt solution (mix ice water with salt) 3 hours.
- Mix remaining ingredients. Bring to boil. Add cucumbers and onions. Heat just until boiling.
- Pack vegetables into jars, leaving 1/2-inch head space. Fill jar to within 1/2-inch of top with boiling hot liquid. Remove air bubbles in jars. Adjust lids. Process 5 minutes in boiling water bath.
