Recipe Introduction
Season budget-friendly flank steak with a homemade rub made from garlic powder, cumin, hot paprika, oregano, salt, pepper, and red papper for a quick and easy summer dinner. Serve with grilled corn-on-the-cob and a bagged salad to round out the meal.

- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons hot paprika
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
- 1 (2-pound) flank steak, trimmed
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Combine first 7 ingredients; rub spice mixture over both sides of steak. Cover and refrigerate 3 hours.
- Prepare grill.
- Place steak on grill rack coated with cooking spray; grill 5 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness. Let stand 10 minutes. Cut steak diagonally across the grain into thin slices.
