Curried Chicken Burgers
List of Ingredients
- 1 lb extra-lean ground chicken
- 3/4 cup cooked couscous
- 1/2 cup plain nonfat yogurt
- 1/2 cup freshly grated carrots (about 2 or 3 medium carrots)
- 2 tsp curry powder or to taste
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 1/2 T chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/4 tsp dried red pepper flakes
- pinch salt
Instructions
- Preheat grill or broiler.
- In large bowl, combine all ingredients and blend well by hand. Shape the mixture into 6 equal patties.
- Place on grill over gray coals or on broiler pan 2" to 3" from heat. Grill burgers about 5 minutes on each side, or until juices run clear when pierced with a fork. Serve on toasted hamburger rolls with honey mustard and thinly sliced cucumber or apple.
Final Comments
Makes about six 4-oz burgers.
