Guadalajara Beef
List of Ingredients
- 1 bottle (12 oz) Mexican dark beer
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp each ground cumin, chili powder and hot pepper sauce
- 4 beef bottom sirloin steaks or boneless strip steaks (4 to 6 oz each)
- salt and black pepper
- red, green and yellow bell peppers, cut lengthwise into quarters and seeded, optional
- salsa, optional
- flour tortillas and lime wedges, optional
Instructions
- In large shallow glass dish or large heavy plastic bag, combine beer, soy sauce, garlic, cumin, chili powder and pepper sauce. Add beef; cover dish or close bag.
- Marinate in refrigerator up to 12 hours, turning beef several times. Remove beef from marinade; discard marinade. Season with salt and pepper.
- Oil hot grid to prevent sticking. On covered grill, over medium briquets, grill beef and peppers 8 to 12 minutes, turning once. Beef should be of medium doneness and peppers tender. Serve with salsa, tortillas and lime wedges.
