    Savory Braised Short Ribs

    List of Ingredients


    • 4 lbs short ribs
    • 2 cups beef broth
    • 1 cup onion, chopped
    • 1 cup water
    • 4 peppercorns
    • 2 tsp worcestershire sauce
    • 1 garlic cloves, crushed
    • 1 bay leaf
    • 1/2 tsp marjarom
    • 1/4 cup sour cream
    • 2 1/2 T horseradish
    • 1 T prepared mustard
    • 1/8 tsp salt
    • 3 T water
    • 1/2 cup water


    Instructions


    1. Trim any excess from shortribs. In a kettle over medium heat, brown meat on all sides, about 30 minutes. Pour off the drippings.
    2. Add beef broth, chopped onion, water, peppercorns, worcestershire sauce, crushed garlic clove, bay leaf and marjarom. Bring to a boil; reduce the heat, cover, and cook slowly 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until tender.
    3. Meanwhile, in a small bowl combine sour cream, horseradish, prepared mustard and salt. Set aside.
    4. Place the ribs on a serving platter and keep warm. Skim the fat off the cooking liquid. Combine flour with water, mixing until smooth then combine with the cooking liquid. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, reduce heat, and cook slowly for 3 minutes. Serve both sauces with the ribs.
