- Dough:
- 4 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3 egg yolks
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 pkg dry active yeast
- 1 tsp vanilla
- sugar, as needed
- Fillling:
- 3 egg whites
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup pecans, finely chopped
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine flour, salt and butter in large bowl. Blend until mixture is a coarse meal.
- Blend together yolks, sour cream, yeast and vanilla.
- Add to flour mixture. Stir to form dough. Divide into 4 pieces.
- Roll out each piece on surface sprinkled lightly with sugar. Roll each piece to an 11" circle; cut into 12 wedges.
- Filling: Beat egg whites in small bowl until soft peaks form. Slowly add sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form. Stir in pecans and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Spread on dough.
- Roll each wedge, starting with wider end and roll to a point. Place point side down on greased cookie sheet, shaping to form crescent.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
