Chunky Pecan Bars

Recipe Introduction
Like hand-held pecan pies with the added bonus of chocolate, these bars are sure to be a hit.
List of Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup dark corn syrup
- 2 T melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chunks
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- In a small bowl, combine flour and sugar. Using a pastry blender, or two forks, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press into a 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Bake 15 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, syrup, melted butter, and vanilla. Stir in chocolate and pecans. Pour over crust. Bake 25 minutes. Cool to set, then cut into bars. Store in the refrigerator.
