    • 1/4 cup butter
    • 1 medium onion, minced
    • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
    • juice of 2 large lemons
    • 2 T chili sauce
    • 1 T white vinegar
    • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
    • 1/4 tsp salt, or to taste


    Instructions


    1. In a nonreactive saucepan, warm the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and saute until translucent and very soft, about 5 to 7 minutes.
    2. Mix in the remaining ingredients plus 1/4 cup water, reduce the heat to low, and cook the mixture for 10 additional minutes. Use the sauce warm.
    3. This sauce keeps, covered and refrigerated, for several weeks. Reheat before using.
