    List of Ingredients




    1/2 c butter or marg, softened
    1/2 c shortening (Crisco)
    2 c sugar
    5 lg eggs, seperated
    2 c all purpose flour
    1 tsp baking soda
    1/4 c cocoa
    1 c buttermilk
    1 c pecans, chopped
    1 c flaked coconut
    1 tsp vanilla

    Recipe



    Beat butter and shortening until fluffy. Gradually add sugar beating well. Add egg yolks one at a time beating well after each addition. Combine flour, soda and cocoa and add to creamed mixture. Stirr in pecans, coconut and vanilla. Beat egg whites in a seperate bowl until stiff peaks form. Fold into batter. Pour into three greased and floured 8" cake pans and bake at 325 for 35 minutes.

    Chocolate Cream Cheese Icing

    8 oz cream cheese
    1/2 c butter or marg, softened
    16 oz powdered sugar, sifted
    1/4 c cocoa
    1/8 tsp salt
    1/2 pecans, chopped
    1 tsp vanilla

    Beat cream cheese and butter until fluffy. Sift sugar, cocoa and salt together and add to creamed mixture. Stir in pecans and vanilla.
    Frost cooled cake
