List of Ingredients
1/2 cup shortening
1-1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon butter flavoring
1 oz. red food coloring
2-1/4 cup flour
3 tablespoon cocoa
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon baking soda
Frosting:
8 oz. cream cheese (softened)
1 box powder sugar
1 stick margarine (softened)
1 can coconut (approx. 1-1/2 cups)
1/2 c. pecans, chopped
1 teaspoon butter flavoring, if desired
Recipe
Mix shortening, sugar & eggs. Mix well
Then add: vanilla, butter flavoring & red food coloring
Then add: flour & cocoa
Then add: buttermilk, salt, vinegar, & baking soda
Mix well, then mix on high 2 min.
Put in 2, 9" cake pans
Bake 350 25 - 30 min
Let sit in pan 10 min. to cool then put on wire rack to finish cooling. Cool completely
Frosting: mix well, frost on cooled cake
