    Cake:
    1 cup (240 ml) butter or margarine, softened
    4 T (60 ml) cocoa
    2 cups (480 ml) sugar
    4 eggs
    1-1/2 cups (360 ml) flour
    1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) salt
    1 teaspoon (5 ml) baking powder
    1-1/2 teaspoons (7.5 ml) vanilla
    1-1/2 cups (360 ml) pecans (optional)
    About 8 oz (224 g) miniature marshmallows

    Frosting:
    4 T (60 ml) butter or margarine
    1/2 cup (120 ml) evaporated milk
    Dash salt
    16 oz (448 g) powdered sugar
    1/2 cup (120 ml) cocoa
    1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla

    Recipe



    To prepare cake combine butter, cocoa, sugar, eggs (one at a
    time), flour, salt, baking powder, vanilla and pecans in mixing
    bowl. Spread mixture into greased 13x9-inch (33x23-cm) baking
    pan.

    Bake at 350 F (180 C) for 30-40 minutes. Remove from oven and
    immediately pour marshmallows evenly over top. (Spread them in
    a single layer, completely covering cake.)

    To prepare frosting combine butter, milk and salt in a saucepan
    and bring to a boil. Boil slowly for 1 minute.

    Sift powdered sugar and stir in cocoa. Add to hot milk mixture.
    Add vanilla and beat until smooth. (If frosting seems too thick,
    add more milk.) While still hot, pour evenly over marshmallows.
    Cool and serve.

    Makes 20-24 servings.
