Butter Pecan Rum Balls

They're a good variety if you're mailing cookies. If you don't like the taste of rum, substitute caramel syrup.
List of Ingredients
1 box (12 ounces) vanilla wafer cookies, crushed
2 cups (8 ounces) finely chopped pecans
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons ( 1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons ( 1/2 of a large can) sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract or a few drops or 1/8 teaspoon butter pecan flavor
1/4 cup dark or spiced rum
Powdered sugar, for coating
Recipe
In a large bowl, stir together crushed cookies, pecans and salt. Stir in butter, condensed milk, vanilla and rum. Mix until smooth and evenly moistened.
Scoop mixture by tablespoonful and roll into balls. Roll balls in powdered sugar to coat. Store in an airtight container. Makes 32 balls
