List of Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1/4 cup onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 (8-ounce) cans tomato sauce
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 cup (4-ounces) Cheddar cheese, shredded
1 (16-ounce) can pinto beans, undrained
1 (6-ounce) package cornbread mixRecipe
In a large skillet cook the brown beef, onion and garlic. When the meat is browned, remove from heat and drain excess fat. Add the tomato sauce and chili powder. Spoon the mixture into a lightly greased 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish. Top with the cheese. Spoon the beans over the cheese. In a bowl, prepare the cornbread according to package directions. Pour over the top of the beans. Bake at 400-degrees for 25 minutes, or until the cornbread is golden brown. Serves: 6.
