Hamburger Gravy Over Mashed Potatoes

List of Ingredients
1 lb lean ground beef
1 small onion chopped
1 10.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup
3/4 soup can milk
1 tsp garlic powder
black pepper to taste
cooked, mashed potatoes
Recipe
In a 10" skillet with a cover, brown the ground beef with the onion, crumble beef while cooking. Drain off fat if necessary.
Add the soup, milk and garlic powder, bring to a simmer and cook, covered for 15 minutes. Season with black pepper to taste.
If too thin, cook uncovered for a few minutes or if thick, thin with more milk.
Serve ladeled over mashed potatoes.
We like to serve this with canned corn, sometimes putting the corn on the potatoes before ladeling the gravy on.
This can easily be increased by adding more meat, soup and milk. Adding canned mushrooms makes it doubly good.
It can be made with a variety of soups if you don't like mushroom. Cream of celery, onion, broccoli, asparagus or cauliflower are good in this too.
