Shanghai Noodles with Spicy Beef Sauce

List of Ingredients
1 tbsp oil
2 tsp minced garlic
1 ½ tsp minced ginger root
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
1 ½ cup chopped onion
1 lb ground beef
½ cup chicken broth divided
1/3 cup hoisen sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup dry sherry or beef broth
16 oz vermicelli cooked and drained
½ cup diagonally sliced green onionsRecipe
Heat a large skillet, add oil, garlic gingerroot and pepper flakes. Saute about 5 seconds. Add onion and stir-fry until transparent. Crumble in ground beef and stir fry until the meat is brown. In a small bowl combine 1/4 cup of the chicken broth, hoisen sauce and sherry. Stir into the meat mixture. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes stirring once or twice. Meanwhile dissolve cornstarch in remaining chicken broth. Add to the meat mixture, cook and stir until the sauce is thick. Place vermicelli noodles on a platter. Pour the sauce over top and garnish with green onion. 4 - 6 servings
