    Cross cutting makes the beef tender enough to cook quickly.

    1 lb beef round steak
    1/4 c all-purpose flour
    3 T oil
    2/3 c water
    4oz can sliced mushrooms
    1-1/2oz pkg onion soup mix
    1 c sour cream
    cooked egg noodles, tossed with butter

    Recipe



    Slice meat into thin strips diagonally across the grain; coat with flour. Heat oil in a skillet and brown the beef; drain as needed. Add water, mushrooms and their liquid to skillet; stir in soup mix and heat just to boiling. Blend in sour cream. Serve over buttered noodles. Serves 4
