    List of Ingredients




    3 cups flour
    2 1/2 cups sugar divided
    1 cup butter
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 1/2 cups corn syrup -light or dark
    6 squares semi sweet cocolate
    4 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 1/2 tsp vanilla
    2 1/2 cups chopped pecans

    Recipe



    Crust:
    Combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar, butter and salt until mixture resembles course crumbs. Grease 15x10x1 inch pan. Make sure pan is at least 1 inch deep or filling will run over!! Press mixture firmly into pan and bake at 350 for 20 min.
    Filling:
    Stir corn syrup and cocolate over low heat until chocolate melts, remove from heat and stir in remaining 2 cups sugar, then eggs,vanilla and pecans, blend well. Pour over hot base and spread evenly and bake at 350 for 30 min. or untill filling is firm around the edges and slightly soft in the center. Cool in pan on rack. Makes 48 squares
