List of Ingredients
6 pork chops
salt and pepper to taste
2 T shortening (oil)
4 potatoes
1 can sauerkraut (16-oz)
few Tbsp water
Recipe
Season chops and brown in skillet in heated shortening . Place chops in bottom of casserole baking dish. Slice or dice potatoes, place them on top of chops, and season with salt and pepper. Mound sauerkraut on top of potatoes. Remove excess fat from skillet used to brown chops, add a little water and heat. Pour the resulting brown broth over sauerkraut. Cover casserole and bake in 325-degree oven for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
