    1 lb. sweet onions, sliced thin
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 cup cider vinegar
    1/4 cup vegetable oil
    2 tsp. dill weed
    1 teaspoon salt

    Recipe



    Place onions in bowl. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, vinegar, oil, dill and salt. Bring to a boil
    stirring constantly. Pour over onions and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate at least 5 hours. Serve with a slotted spoon. Yield 4 servings.
    I doubled my recipe. be careful of the dill weed , don't over do it altho its good . When tossing up it looks so green.. but good.

    I really didn't measure my onions but it worked. I think I put some pimentos in for color too.
    Hope you enjoy this. This keeps in the refrig.well. You could continue to add onions to the same marinade because they stay crisp.
