Warm Tomato Gratin with Asiago, Parmesan

Posted by: Frostqt **********This gratin is wonderful atop roasted chicken, grilled steaks, salmon, pork, (my favorite) or as an appetizer over your favorite crusty bread
List of Ingredients
2 lbs. large, ripe tomatoes
2 cups heavy cream
3 oz. Asiago cheese, grated
1 oz. Parmesan cheese, grated
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tbl. fresh basil, finely chopped
1 tsp. dried chile flakes
salt & pepper to taste
Recipe
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Slice tomatoes 3/4" thick & overlap in a single layer in a large grain dish.
3. Pour heavy cream & sprinkle with salt & pepper.
4. Bake for about 15 minutes, until cream is boiling & tomatoes have softened.
5. Meanwhile, mix grated cheeses with garlic, basil & chile flakes.
6. Turn oven to broil, sprinkle cheese mixture over tomatoes & broil until golden brown (about 2-4 minutes).
