    Playboy Beef Stew

    List of Ingredients

    2 pounds beef for stew
    3 tablespoons cooking oil
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 leek (white part only), minced
    1/4 cup flour
    1 bay leaf
    1/4 teaspoon thyme
    3 cups boiling water
    3 beef bouillon cubes
    10 ounces can tomatoes, chopped
    12 small silver onions,, peeled
    4 carrots, 1/2" slices
    4 medium potatoes, quartered
    2 dashes tobasco sauce
    salt
    pepper

    Recipe

    1. Sauté meat in oil until browned. Sprinkle leek and onion over meat, mix well, sauté 5 minutes more. Sprinkle in the flour, mix well.

    2. Add bay leaf, thyme, boiling water, bouillon cubes and tomatoes, 1 t. salt and 1/8 t. pepper, stirring well.

    3. Bring to a boil, skim, reduce heat and simmer slowly for 2 hours.

    4. Add the whole silver onions carrots and potatoes, simmer until tender.

    5. Add tobasco sauce, salt and pepper to taste.

    6. Sprinkle freshly cooked green peas over stew and serve.
