This came from Grandma Harriet, 9-24-2000.
She made this and took for their sibling get together.
Bapa and I went over to visit.
I asked Grandma Harriet where she got it from and she said she had the recipe for years. We had never had it before.
Very colorful for fall and very tasty.
List of Ingredients
1 can french style green beans
1 can peas (small peas)
2 cups diced celery
2 shredded carrots
1 green pepper, seeded & chopped
1 onion (small white)
1/4 of a small bottle of green stuffed olives, sliced
4 ounces cheddar cheese, diced
salt (to taste)
Almonds
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup salad oil
garlic salt (to taste)
Recipe
In a 2 quart bowl mix together:
green beans, peas, celery, carrots, green pepper,
onion, olives, cheddar cheese.
Mix and sprinkle with salt
Mix together:
sugar, salad oil & garlic salt.
Pour over vegetables & let stand over night.
Drain before serving, reserving liquid.
Sprinkle with almonds.
