Recipe Introduction
I remember this bread from childhood
List of Ingredients
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ground allspice
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
3 large eggs
3 cups plain flour ,sifted
2 cups canned pumpkin
1 cup chooped fine nuts
1 cup raisins,opt.
Recipe
Cream the butter and sugar well;add the eggs,one at a time mix well after each.
Sift the flour and spices together adding the salt,baking soad and baking powder
Mix into the pumpkin and vanilla alternately.
Fold in the chopped nuts and raisins.
Pour into greased tube pan and bake one hour at 350.
Cool completely
* my precious daddy loved this pumpkin bread with his strong coffee. This was made back in the fifties when I was growing up and started my love for cooking.
