Chocolate Macaroon Squares

1 pkg. (2 layer) chocolate cake mix
1/3 c. butter or margarine; softened
1 large egg; lightly beaten
1 1/4 c. (14 oz. can) sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/3 c. coconut; divided
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup (6 oz) semi-sweet choc. chips
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350.
Combine cake mix, butter and egg in large bowl; mix with fork until crumbly. Press into bottom of an ungreased 13x9 baking dish. Combine sweetened condensed milk, egg and vanilla in a medium bowl; beat until well blended. Stir in 1 cup coconut, the nuts, and choc. chips.
Spread mixture evenly over the base; sprinkle with remaining
coconut. Bake 28 to 30 minutes or until center is almost set (center will firm up when cool.) Cool in pan on a wire rack. Cut into squares when cool.
