    1 butter recipe cake mix (minus 2/3 cup to set aside)
    1/2 cup softened butter
    1 egg
    3 eggs
    1 1/2 cups Karo syrup
    2/3 cup brown sugar
    2 1/2 cups chopped pecans
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 (6-oz.) pkg. chocolate chips




    Recipe



    Spray veg. oil sides only of a 9x13-in. pan.

    Mix the first 3 ingredients and place in pan. Bake for 20 min. at 350F. Let cool. Mix together remaining ingredients. Pour over baked layer.

    Bake 45 min. at 325F. (reduced temp. from above). If center is not set by then turn off oven and leave in for 15 min. Remove and let cool.
