Fruit Swirl Coffee Cake

1 pkg. (2 layer) yellow cake mix
1/2 c. sour cream
1/3 c. butter or margarine; softened
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 can (2l oz) cherry pie filling
1/2 c. of sour cream ready to spread frosting
Recipe
Heat oven to 350. Grease the bottom and sides of jelly roll pan with shortening; lightly flour. Stir cake mix (dry), sour cream, butter, vanilla, and eggs in a large bowl, using large spoon until dough forms.
Set aside 1 cup dough; spread remaining dough in pan. Spread pie filling over dough in pan. Drop 1 cup of dough by lightly less than 1 tablespoonfuls onto pie filling.
Bake for 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Microwave frosting in a microwavable bowl uncovered on high for 20 to 30 seconds or until melted; stir. Drizzle over warm coffee cake. Cool 30 minutes. Serve warm or cool.
