Cherry Angel Trifle

1/2 cup powdered sugar
8 oz. cream cheese; softened
8 oz. carton whipped topping
5 cups cubed angel food cake
1/2 c. chopped pecans
21 oz. can cherry pie filling*
Recipe
In a medium bowl combine sugar and cream cheese. Beat until well blended. Reserve 1/2 c. whipped topping. Fold remaining whipped topping, cake cubes, and pecans into cream cheese mixture. Spoon mixture into a glass bowl. Top with pie filling. Garnish with reserved whipped topping.
Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours before serving.
Serves approx. 12
*Have also used this with blueberry and raspberry pie filling
