    Southern Buttermilk Cornbread

    List of Ingredients




    1-1/2 cups cornmeal
    1/2 cup all purpose flour
    1-1/2 cups buttermilk
    1/4 cup vegetable oil
    2 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp sugar
    1 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    2 large eggs

    Recipe



    Heat over to 450 degrees. Grease bottom and sides of skillet. Mix all ingredients. Beat well for 30 seconds. Pour batter into pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

    If using self rising flour, decrease baking powder to 1 tsp and omit salt.
