    3 cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    5 tbsp cocoa
    1 cup butter, softened
    1/2 cup vegetable shortening
    3 cups sugar
    5 large eggs
    1 cup buttermilk
    1 tbsp vanilla extract

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 325°. Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan.

    Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cocoa; set aside. Using an electrc mixer, cream together butter, shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, and mix well after each addition. Add flour and buttermilk alternately to butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour. Add vanilla and mix well.

    Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour and 45 minutes or until cake tests done. Remove from oven and allow cake to cool in pan for 10 minutes. Invert cake onto cake plate and cool slightly before serving.
