    Recipe Introduction

A wonderfully light and fluffy dinner roll. The dough also works well for cinnamon rolls.

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 envelope active dry yeast
    • 1/4 cup warm water
    • 1 egg, slightly beaten
    • 1 cup scalded milk
    • 1/3 cup sugar
    • 4-1/2 cup all purpose flour
    • 1 tsp salt

    Instructions

    1. Sprinkle yeast over warm water in large bowl. Stir until dissolved. Stir in in beaten egg.
    2. Stir butter, salt and sugar into hot milk until milk cooled to 105-115 degrees
    3. Add milk mixture to yeast mixture.

    4. Beat in 4 cups of flour, 1 cup at a time to form a soft dough. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes, using remaining flour. Dough should remain soft and slightly sticky.
    5. Place dough into greased bowl, then turn dough over so greased side is up. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1-1/2 hours
    6. Punch down and knead for 4-5 minutes
    7. Shape into rolls and place in buttered 13x9 pan, just barely touching.
    8. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes
    9. Brush tops with melted butter or margarine and bake in 375 degree oven for 18-20 minutes or until brown.
