The alternative recipe to the plain pastry
List of Ingredients
- 2 cups
- 1teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup shortening
Instructions
- Mix and sift flour and salt. Cut in 2 tbsp shortening with knife Ad enough water to make a stiff dough.
- Roll out in an oblong piece on slightly floured board and then dot with shortening using 1/3 of the remaining quality.
- fold over ends to the center and fold again to make four layers.
- Press ends together and roll out.
- Dot again with shortening, fold and roll.
- Repeat a third time.
- Chill thoroughly
- you can use in place of plain pastry.
