    The alternative recipe to the plain pastry


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups
    • 1teaspoon salt
    • 2/3 cup shortening


    Instructions


    1. Mix and sift flour and salt. Cut in 2 tbsp shortening with knife Ad enough water to make a stiff dough.
    2. Roll out in an oblong piece on slightly floured board and then dot with shortening using 1/3 of the remaining quality.
    3. fold over ends to the center and fold again to make four layers.
    4. Press ends together and roll out.
    5. Dot again with shortening, fold and roll.
    6. Repeat a third time.
    7. Chill thoroughly
    8. you can use in place of plain pastry.
