Recipe Introduction
Greek Beef Kabobs
PROTEINS/FATS AND VEGGIES; LEVEL ONE
MAKES ABOUT 8 KABOBS
These kabobs are great for summer grilling. This recipe calls for beef, but any of your favorite meats will work well. You can find metal or wooden skewers in your local grocery store. This is excellent with Greek Salad.
List of Ingredients
1 pound boneless sirloin steak (cut into 2-inch cubes)
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon dried oregano
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
24 pearl onions (peeled)
24 cherry tomatoes (stems removed)
3 red or green bell peppers (seeded and chopped into 2-inch squares)
24 mushrooms (stems removed)
Recipe
Place the sirloin, olive oil, oregano, salt, and pepper in a noncorrosive bowl. Marinate in the refrigerator at least 1 hour or as long as overnight. Drain and reserve the marinade for basting. Prepare a grill. To make the kabobs, skewer the meat and vegetables in a pretty pattern. Repeat the process until your skewer is full. Thread the next kabob and continue until all your ingredients are used up. Over very high heat, lay the kabobs on the grill and cook, basting with leftover marinade, until the meat is done to your liking, 6 minutes for medium.
